Hives

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Feb 04, 2002 12:27 pm

I had a choliangiogram on 12/12 and an ERCP 12/15. Dyes used were Hypaque for 1st and Reno-60 for 2nd. A month afterwards I developed hives on top of my right forearm, just below elbow. Patch about 3x6. Only on that arm, which is were the IVs were. Went away in about a week. Was this a reaction to the dye that I should note if I have anything else done? Thanks for your help.

I am not aware of such delayed reactions to contrast material. Usually reactions occur within minutes and even hours, but days... Not that I am familiar with.
