Staghorn-Struvite 1.9cm - Is perc best solution?

Post a new topicby greyshield on Tue May 13, 2008 11:52 pm

Just got out of the hospital after 6 days of unbelievable pain and 104 temp. Passed one stone but the other one is upper pole and they say I need perc to remove it so I can get rid of the kidney infection. Most of my online reading says perc is the only way to go with this type stone, but I was wondering if anyone out there had had something similiar and used a different method. The doc is saying 6-10 days in the hospital and three weeks out of work. Ouch, that is a lot of time off and I am not into soaps. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Grey

I have no information to help you but perhaps you could help me by sharing your history. I have this infection bladder/kidney that nothing can clear up. I have been on antibiotics since November but always show white blood cells in my urine even when on the medication. Now I have both kidney pain and abdominal pain. I am currently on 875 Amoxicillin/cluvate for two mos.. I have two small stones and parapelvic cysts, both bilateral. It all started with a UTI with tremendous ammonia odor. Since the suspicion might be struvite, could you share your history and let me know about your experience with UTI's and kidney infections and how long it went on and symptoms, etc. Thank you so much.
