stuck in urethra

Post a new topicby fullofit on Sat Jul 05, 2008 4:15 am

After months of trying to pass a small kidney stone I now have learned that it's stuck in my lower bladder or at the top of my urethra. My doctor says it's not seriuos just uncomfortable and annoying. I always want to urinate with little results. Any ideas anyone?

you can take pyrdium for urgency, it will make urine orange. You need to wear mini pads. Do you have an infection or any other symptoms?

I also had stones that wouldn't pass and my urologist went up after them. It was a same day procedure and was just uncomfortable afterwards, not painful.

The doctor ordered an xray, called a KUB (kidneys, bladder, ureters) weekly and that shows where the stone is situated. Mine didn't move for 3 weeks, so that is why he went after them.

Im curious because I may be in a similar situation. All pain is gone, cant see it on an xray...no blood in urine..but Im not 100% it has passed? I say this because I still have occasional frequent urination.

I had stones on both sides and the one on the left that showed up on the CT couldn't be seen on the KUB. The urologist had to flush the left ureter to get it to come down, as it was just too high to snare. You may still have a stone and it's hiding. My doctor put me on Flowmax for a month to increase urinary flow
