Suspect Kidney Stone/s

Post a new topicby cherribell on Wed Jul 02, 2008 5:21 am

Hi, I have been reading this forum for a while as I suspect I have a kidney stone/s gravel .. something like that. I would appreciate some opinions, thanks.

3 months ago I became very ill with an upper UTI Eventually this was cleared with the anti-biotics, however I continued to have other symptoms that have gotton worse and not gone away. My doctor has referred me for an untrasound on the kidneys and an IVP, however I am in the UK (long waiting times), and this appointment is still 3 weeks away!!

My kidney function and other blood tests are all normal and the doctor examined me and said my kidney is not enlarged. I am 32 and female, active with a healthy vegetarian diet. Here's an idea of my symptoms ..

*acheing and painful lower back. Sometimes I feel sharp pains in the kidney area of the back. My left side sometimes has the aches and pains. Sometimes it is my groin and pelvis area, and sometimes stomach.

*I have felt really bad tearing pain across my abdomen and then down around my pelvis and pubic bone (this was REALLY BAD PAIN), this lasted a week and then it went back to a dull ache. I had visable blood in my urine during this time, which went as the bad pain did. I never felt uncomfortable when going to the toilet though and never saw anything come out.

*I am really exhausted. Some days I have not been able to get out of bed. I have had headaches, naseau, jittery feelings, at times. Some days I am up and about but don't have the energy to go out and do anything.

*Now and again I will take hot flushes, chills, and night sweats, but I don't seem to have any fever. I get sweaty hands.

*I am drinking loads of water, and sometimes I really need the toilet and not much comes out. It is never uncomfortable though.

I have handed in several urine samples and they all come back as no infection.

It is driving me crazy having to wait to see what is going on. I think my symptoms sound like stones but I don't read much of people having the extreme tiredness and sweaty feelings - is this a symptom? I'd really appreaciate any insight. Thanks.
