my right to previous mammographies

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

I decided to start going to a hospital breast center my routine mammography instead of to chain radiology office i have used several years. new radiologist wants to see my x-rays from several years says y belong to me. mer office says y'll provide x-rays i will have to leave a $50 deposit return x-rays to get my money back. Is legal procedure?

I think this depends on state laws which vary quite a bit. In a more genteel time, ten years ago or so, most places that did mammography would not have the cheek to charge for this. On the other hand, lost x-rays are a big problem for institutions especially if there is litagation and I guess they have to protect themselves. What a world!
