needle/wire localization pre-op to lumpectomy

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Sep 22, 2003 4:28 pm

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if radiologists will accommodate a patient's request to be given general anesthesia or at least sustained sedation for a needle/wire localization before and during the procedure and the wait for surgery (lumpectomy).

My term of sedation meaning:
I want become "loopy" enough to calm me down to the point that I do not care about what is going on around me. I don't want psychological trauma from the procedure that I have to endure to have a lump removed.

Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated!

Can you direct me somewhere else if you can't.

Thank you for your time involved in answering my question and concerns quickly.

Thank you so much.
