Frequent Urination for 6 months! HELP!

Post a new topicby grizov on Thu Dec 03, 2009 11:00 pm

Hey,

I'm 21 years old male, sexually active, 1 partner, practice safe sex. For about 6 months I have been urinating frequently. It started one day in the summer and then disappeared for a month. Then the frequency came with increased urgency and started to come and go in periods of weeks ( 1 week I have it, one week I have no symptoms). I had many urine tests done (5 or 6) all came back negative, physical examination, prostate examination, a CT scan that showed no sign of bladder stone or any kidney infections. I have taken a full course of cipro ( 1 week) and then a week of doxycycline for chlamydia none of which helped. In my opinion, I think its a bacteria that has not been detected since my urologist refuses to do a prostate fluid exam. He says that if there is some infection there a prostate fluid examination might lead to a spreading of the infection to the blood. Is that even true? He admitted that its "gross" and "unpleasant" for him to do a test of the prostate fluid so I think that is not even true about spreading of the infection.

I have switched 2-3 urologists now and I'm getting kind of desperate as no matter how much I complain or beg for help my condition is being looked upon as something not worth any attention at all. And I'm sure if there is a bacteria sooner or later it will go in my kidneys. Is it usually hard to detect UTI and bacteria in men? What should I do ?
