Re: StomachInflammation means that the tissues are at a heightened state of alert because of some ongoing and/or past injury. For example, suppose you burn your hand on the stove. The tissues react to the burn by becoming red and swollen (inflamed). In your stomach, the same thing happens. The lining tissues become inflamed usually because of dietary issues, often alcohol and other factors. The gastric folds that are usually thin and pinkish become much thicker and redder. This hurts and may lead to complications such as ulcers. Look at "Ulcers" in the side panel.
