I am paralyzed (L1). Will I have a problem passing the liquid with no bowel function?

It will make it a bit more difficult. What I would do is limit the barium to what is need and no more. After the test you need to drink lots of liquids to help keep the barium from getting inspissated in your large bowel. Some departments use stool softeners also.
