I have had pains in my stomach that I don't reconize as hunger pains, nausea, or gas. I am planning my wedding in a hurry and have a VERY full schedule otherwise. I have only started having these pains in the last couple of months, but I am worried that I might have an ulcer. Today it got so bad that tears came to my eyes. What are the symptoms of an ucler and also what kinds of uclers are there? The pain does subside somewhat once I have eaten, but is still there most of the time, especially in the mornings when I wake up and at night when I go to bed. If it is an ulcer, what can I do to get rid of it?
thanks
Re: ulcersChristen,
I'll begin by saying that you need to see a real doctor about this. I can tell you what I think, but obviously I am working with only a small bit of information here. Also I am not a GI guy... just a radiologist. There are many causes of upper abdominal pain and/or discomfort. The three most likely would be reflux from the stomach to the esophagus, ulcers in the stomach or duodenum, and gallbladder disease. All these topics are discussed in the sections located in the left margin of the website screen. The fact that all this is occurring at a time of stress suggests to me that the first two possibilities would be more likely. In which case, a simple prescription may relieve the problem. Talk to a real doctor. Please. [quote] I have had pains in my stomach that I don't reconize as hunger pains, nausea, or gas.
