Can ulcers be detected with a blood test?

No. There are findings on a blood test that may suggest blood loss (anemia) from a bleeding ulcer, but that's about it.
Ulcers are diagnosed two ways, either upper GI series and upper endoscopy.
Check out "Ulcers" on the side panel.
