My husband has had stomach problems for years he had an ultrasound and they just found small amount of bile build up I think he may have recently deveoped gallstones. The doctor is ordering an upperGI, and I was wondering if that would also show gallstones if they are present. Also my husband swallowed a quater once in his teen years is it possible he never passed it and that could be his problem? One last thing my husbands dad recently passed away at 56 his new wife said he had stomach problems as well, his death is still unknown. So that worries us concerning my spouse he has had stomach problems as long as I can remember even pains in his side up into his rib area even sometimes taking his breath. Thanks,
Mrs. Clark

I cannot imagine that the quarter your husband swallowed would be an issue at this point in his life. "Stomach problems" do seem to pass from generation to generation. Re: Re: upperGIThank you for your quick response, well he had his upper gi and the doctor said that he thinks he might have Barretts esophagus this really scares us. They are waitng for his biopsy results. If it comes back posative is their reason to be concerned? I know that they will leave him on medication, but I also know it can lead to cancer. I am not sure if this is a common thing or not so I just want to know if detected and with proper care you can live a long healthy life. He will have upper gi done atleast once a year. It just really scares us he's only 34 with small children, and we just don't know what to think. I always think the worse thing. Sincerely,
